The headteacher and governors of St. John’s CE (A) Primary School are excited that an opportunity has arisen for the position of an Assistant Headteacher to support the school community in moving to its next level of school improvement. We are proud of our children and have a dedicated staff, and we feel this position will enhance the expectations we have as an inclusive community.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, committed and highly focused individual. Our new Assistant Headteacher would be responsible for driving inclusion across the school, first and foremost by supporting the staff within our classes to deliver inclusive quality first teaching. You will not be the lead on all areas of inclusion but you will work closely with a range of team members to lead on a joined-up approach to inclusion to ensure all children achieve. At the core of this is a focus on high aspirations and consistently removing barriers so that each child will be enabled to achieve the maximum benefit from their education at St. John’s.
Experience of inclusion (EAL, SEND, PP or LAC), whole school data and leading on a whole school subject would be beneficial, but ultimately we are looking for:
- An inspirational leader with excellent classroom practice who has the ability to teach across all of our primary school key stages and develop others through their mentoring. -A leader who can draw on a need and implement the solution through their own skill and the skills of the wider team. -A person with drive, high expectations and aspirations for children, families and colleagues. -A supportive Assistant Headteacher with the desire to promote and celebrate our Christian values. -A team player who is passionate about children's learning and keen to see all children inspired and succeed with enjoyment and enthusiasm. - A person who sees the importance of the wider community in supporting all to flourish. This is very much a strategic role that will influence practice, motivate teams, ensure accountability and contribute to school development and improvement.Due to this we anticipate a substantial amount of leadership time allocated to the role. For such a key role we are asking possible applicants to make a visit to the school. Appointments can be booked through the recruitment email below. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
