Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Assist in analysing variances between actual and budgeted performance. Compile and present financial data to support decision-making. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments. Monitor and report on key financial metrics against budgets. Assist in revising forecasts based on updated financial performance data. Assist with preparation of annual budgets. Assist with preparation of quarterly re-forecasts. Reconciliations and Month-End Close: Perform bank, account, and ledger reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure accuracy of accruals, prepayments, and journal entries. Audit: Assist with year-end audit process. Additional Responsibilities: Prepare sales invoices and assist with processing purchase invoices. Provide weekly sales report to group. Reconcile intercompany accounts. Maintain stock tracker. Maintain fixed asset register. Prepare weekly KPI pack. Process weekly payment run. Minimum Requirements:
To be successful as Assistant Management Accountant you will have the following skills and attributes: Ideally studying towards a professional accounting qualification - CIMA, ACCA OR ACA – Study Support can be provided. Adaptable & Resilient - Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities or requirements. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Strong capability to analyse data and identify trends. Proficiency in interpreting financial metrics to support business decisions. Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies. Team player - Comfortable collaborating with other departments and working as part of a finance team. Proactive & Initiative driven - Willingness to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions. Detail oriented - Meticulous with numbers and processes, ensuring high accuracy in financial records. Time Management and Organization - Skilled at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines during busy periods (e.g., month-end close). Continuous Learner - Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new tools or techniques.
