Your new company

You will be working for an employer of choice in Portsmouth who are looking to add to their finance team with an assistant management accountant, focusing on one specific division of the business. They are seeking a professional, progressive individual to join the organisation in this role.

Your new role Collaborate with colleagues to support finance-related queries and provide advice on financial performance. Review and process credit notes on a weekly basis. Assist in the preparation of management accounts, including profit and loss statements, variance analysis, margin review, and presenting results to the management team. Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts, monitor sales ledger balances, and highlight areas of risk. Create and post monthly bad debt provisions. Review and process third-party invoices in accordance with agreements. Handle credit control, provide evidence for debt write-offs, and liaise with external debt management companies. Support various teams with finance-related queries. Assist in budget preparation and quarterly reforecasting. Help in reconciling and resolving queries related to purchase invoice matching systems. Perform other finance-related duties as needed, focusing on process improvement and efficiency. Provide cover for management accounting tasks during periods of absence. What you'll need to succeed

You will need right-to-work in the UK, with working experience in a similar role, or proven experience to step into a role of this nature. Ideally, someone who is AAT Qualified, or is CIMA/ACCA Part Qualified - or is qualified by experience with exposure to the tasks labelled above. Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail. Proficient in Excel and being comfortable with IT and financial systems. What you'll get in return
