Job Description Our Research and Development Team are looking for a new Assistant Manager to join the team in Newcastle or Birmingham here at Evelyn Partners. Our R&D Team are encouraging and development opportunities are available for those who want to progress their careers. As R&D Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include: Acting as a point of contact for the client to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims and Patent Box claims for submission to HMRC. This will include taking responsibility for client engagement, technical and costing aspects of the project. Ensuring HMRC enquiries are responded to for R&D Tax Claims and Patent Box Claims and advising clients on technical issues relating to R&D Tax Claims. Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients and working with the client's finance and tax teams to ensure that eligible R&D Tax expenditure and patent income is identified. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should be: Ideally fully ATT/CTA qualified or part qualified and working towards, or alternatively, have a background within an Engineering discipline. Strong project management skills and able to manage own workload and inform others of project status. Capable of communicating confidently with clients and internal colleagues of all levels effectively, including dealing with technical and finance staff on a one-to-one basis, conducting structured discussions. Ability to review documentation from more junior team members and provide constructive guidance to enable the production of high-quality work. Business development and client-facing skills and ability to convert new potential opportunities.
