Main area: Speech and Language Therapy Grade: Band 4 Contract: Permanent Hours: Part time Flexible working 30 hours per week Job ref: 208-074755-24-2 Site: Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby Town, Grimsby Salary: £26,530 - £29,114 per annum pro rata Salary period: Yearly Closing: 07/01/2025 23:59 We have an exciting post available to support Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) provision across both Community and in-patient settings, working closely with the SLTs and others in the multi-disciplinary team. Successful applicants will need to be able to work flexibly, including providing community domiciliary visits to support therapy provision in clients' homes. There may also be a requirement to work in in-patient settings, particularly on the Stroke Unit at Diana Princess of Wales hospital, Grimsby - as well as other ward areas if required. Your role will include provision of communication therapy, support with augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC), and exercises for speech and swallowing. These posts would be ideally suited to someone already working at a Band 4 level or with previous skill/experience in this area but could be open to those wishing to progress from a Band 3 which would then be supported by the completion of a foundation degree and completion of appropriate work-based competencies as per policy. Manage a delegated caseload of patients referred for communication or swallowing difficulty with clinical supervision from the Specialist SLTs within your clinical area. Ensure their treatment is evidence-based and patient-centered. Assess, plan, and implement interventions following completion of supervised practice and theoretical training and acquisition of competency. Develop competency to provide communication and swallowing support to patients in the acute adult inpatient setting or community setting (own home, residential and nursing home) and specialist adult outpatient clinics as caseload demands (this may be any hospital location covered by NLAG and community locations throughout North and North-East Lincolnshire). Contribute to the delivery of education programmes to staff and patients within delegated case load.
