The role of the Assistant Practitioner will be to support the Lower Limb Therapy Practitioners by undertaking delegated aspects of their role for which they will have been trained and deemed competent. The Assistant Practitioner, on completion of training, will always continue to act under the guidance of a Registered Practitioner. The post holder will require excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work flexibly across a variety of clinic settings in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

The post holder will be responsible for: Supporting the Registered Nurses in providing comprehensive wound assessment, prevention, and treatment skills around care of leg ulcers. Working closely with the Nurse Specialists (LLTS) and Advanced Nurse Specialist (LLTS), and other members of the Community Services Division to deliver safe, effective care across Exeter, Mid and East Devon populations. Supporting the Nurse specialists and Advanced Nurse Specialist in undertaking research activities and clinical audits in Community Lower Limb Therapy and Well Leg service team.
