Assistant Practitioner
Laurel Ward - Inpatient for Older People with Organic Mental Illness. Assistant practitioners are not registered nurses but have a high level of training in specific areas, and support the registered nurses in delivering high quality, person-centered care. You should have excellent caring and interpersonal skills that you would utilize to build good working relationships with staff, carers, and service users across the scope of our care delivery to support seamless delivery of care. Whilst there are some roles and responsibilities that can only be carried out by a Registered Nurse, we are looking to develop the role of an Assistant Practitioner to enable participation in a wider range of opportunities. This includes participating in clinical reviews, completing relevant documentation such as clinical notes and risk assessments (under the supervision of a Registered Nurse) and medication administration following completion of training and competency assessment. You would also be involved in change management projects such as quality improvement. You will support the Registered Nurses with the day-to-day activities and provide support to service users throughout their inpatient journey. You will be required to work across the 24-7 shift patterns.
