We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, thoughtful, and collaborative colleague with education experience in Social Work and Social Care who will enhance the Department through their experience/research and innovative teaching, promoting effective student engagement. It is desirable that applicants are registered with Social Work England as a qualified social worker or an equivalent international body. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an exciting, innovative and research informed curriculum, delivering high quality teaching across a range of social work subjects. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and will be expected to contribute to course management and academic administrative duties. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and to inter-professional and international social work perspectives. This fixed appointment which covers a period of maternity will primarily provide substantive support to the delivery and administration of our Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) courses. Closes: 13/02/2025 £46,485 to £55,295. Full time starting salary is normally in the range £46,485 to £55,295 with potential progression once in post to £62,098. Grade 8 Minimum Requirements:

Normally, a higher degree relevant to the research/teaching area (usually PhD) or equivalent qualifications Extensive research/teaching experience and scholarship within subject specialism Proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning/research Skills in managing, motivating and mentoring others successfully at all levels Eligibility to register with Social Work England or equivalent professional body is desirable Current or previous experience of working as a warranted AMHP is essential The Department of Social Work and Social Care has a long-established tradition and national and international reputation for its excellence in teaching and research.
