The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Plymouth State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence in August 2025. The tenure-track candidate will be responsible for teaching 12 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses in Criminology/Criminal Justice, establishing and maintaining a research agenda, advising students, and contributing to discipline and university service. Candidates with research and teaching experience in the area of Corrections are encouraged to apply. A PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a related discipline is required. ABD candidates expecting to complete their degree prior to appointment will be considered. Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline. ABD will be considered. Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching with evidence from colleagues and students. Skills in academic advising and mentoring students. Evidence of an active research agenda. Innovative, student-driven, and possessing excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Additional Preferred Qualifications

Ability to teach multiple core courses in the criminology and criminal justice programs. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Corrections. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and participate in collaborative programs and projects across disciplines. Experience integrating technology into the classroom to enhance student learning. Salary Information
