Assistant Project Engineer A prestigious Engineering Company based in Loughborough is looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to join them. The position reports to the Project Manager, assisting with the production of general engineering drawings for a range of Low Voltage Switchboards using AutoCAD. This role also involves contacting customers and suppliers, so excellent communication skills are required. You should have practical hands-on experience, ideally including panel building, as you will assist in the build of the products. General Responsibilities Placing orders using the Sage ordering system. Confirming delivery dates to customers. Producing drawings of switchboards by modifying parts/layout of existing diagrams using AutoCAD/SEE Electrical & PDF Editor software. Producing electrical wiring diagrams using IGE-AXO Electrical software. Helping with the smooth running of contracts, contacting customers when needed for information or to provide information. Assisting with testing and setting up of panels. Preparing and providing quotes to customers (working with Project Engineer/Director). Reporting to the Project Engineer and working with the drawing office team. Job Requirements Experience with a range of Low Voltage switchgear is preferred. Experience on 415VAC systems, A ratings, metering & devices is ideal. Willingness to learn about the product and equipment used within it. Willingness to travel within the UK (under the guidance of an experienced engineer initially). Basic understanding of AutoCAD and willingness to learn the industry-standard IGE-AXO Electrical wiring diagram package. Computer literate. Able to work as part of a small team. Proactive with customers, maintaining good communication. Able to work independently and communicate effectively with customers. Good communication and administration skills. Willingness to work overtime during the week and Saturday mornings if required. The Company Offers: All relevant training including CAD. A pivotal job in a small but expanding family business that has been successful for over 25 years. Annual salary negotiable, depending on experience. Opportunity to work independently in a friendly and busy environment. Working hours: Monday-Thursday: 08:30-17:30, Friday: 08:30-15:00 with a 60-minute lunch break.
