We wish to recruit an Assistant Psychologist for our North Cumbria Specialist Children and Young People's services within our ADHD neurodevelopmental pathway. Under the guidance of a Clinical Psychologist, you will work with young people, their families, and their wider support network. You will work within an established multidisciplinary team supporting psychological assessments, evidence-based treatments, audits, research, and service development. Main Duties of the Job

The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideal for gaining experience in the assessment of neurodevelopmental differences, specifically ADHD. Key aspects of the role will include supporting the process of assessment, formulation, and intervention with individuals who require specialist support beyond universal and targeted services. This may include individual or group-based work alongside the multidisciplinary team, as well as supporting multidisciplinary staff with their psychological understanding of children and young people and assisting in psychological assessments and interventions. The successful candidates will work under the direct supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and will receive regular management and clinical supervision. About Us

Qualifications

2nd class honours degree, or higher, in psychology. Research and Audit Skills. Competence in managing research databases and statistics. Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. Post Graduate Qualifications. Experience

Database and statistics competence. Ability to work in MDTs. Experience of working with children and young people. Experience in a forensic setting. Prior AP experience. Experience in a mental health setting. Skills and Competencies

High level of communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to communicate and work in highly emotive circumstances. Ability to communicate sensitive information to clients, carers, and colleagues. An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems and other disabilities. Ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a mental health/cognitive impairment/disability context. Computer literate, including the use of databases & data analysis, e.g. SPSS for Windows. Demonstrates graduate-level knowledge and experience of research and research methodology. An understanding of psychology applied to healthcare. Experience contributing to research reports and publications. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
