We are delighted to advertise a 20-month fixed term vacancy for a Macmillan Assistant Psychologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This role will be supporting a Clinical Psychologist to develop a new service to improve access to psychological support for people affected by cancer. The main objective of this post will be to support the development and provision of a new clinical psychology service within oncology in NNUH. The successful candidate will be responsible for (with appropriate clinical support) involvement in the initial development of the service, screening referrals that come into the service, managing our patient database and outcomes for the service, and working with the service lead to audit and evaluate service processes to ensure high quality care across patients' cancer journey. Key responsibilities will include: Involvement in meetings in which service development is discussed and planned. Assisting in the design and implementation of service development projects as required. Assisting in audit and service evaluation - collating, analysing and disseminating outcome data using qualitative and quantitative methods. Contributing to training and support of staff in psychological care. Assisting the qualified psychologist in teaching as required. To contribute, as appropriate, to multi-disciplinary meetings within oncology services and psychology departmental meetings. To work collaboratively across the region with Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and James Paget University Hospital, along with other service providers, to ensure equity of access for our cancer patients. All applicants need to be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership with British Psychological Society (BPS). This is a standard set by BPS to ensure that psychology has been studied in enough breadth. Please state on your application form how you can evidence eligibility for GBC. If you don't let us know your GBC eligibility it may affect our ability to review your application at the shortlisting stage. Evidence of GBC eligibility will vary depending on whether your psychology qualifications were GBC-accredited and where you studied, and can include: Email confirmation from the BPS. Academic transcript - some UK and Irish psychology qualifications. Letter from your university - UK and Irish GBC-accredited psychology qualifications. We are recruiting across the region in each of the 3 Trusts, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and James Paget University Hospital, as part of a collaborative approach to ensure equity of access for our cancer patients.
