We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading Civil Engineering Company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial resources are effectively allocated throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control measures and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Role Description

CVR Reports Commercial Support:

Provide commercial support for Civil Engineering projects. Budget Monitoring:

Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to cost control measures. Tender Preparation:

Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of contractor bids. Client Liaison:

Communicate with clients, client representatives, and other third parties on commercial issues. Site Visits:

Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify any potential cost implications. Procurement:

Provide advice on procurement strategies, prepare subcontract documentation, issue enquiries, and negotiate agreements including interim and final accounts. Risk Management:

Identify and manage risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures as necessary. Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects. Forecasting:

Prepare quarterly forecasts and understand forecast costs to completion. Skills & Attributes

Education:

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Experience:

Demonstrable commercial experience, preferably within Civil Engineering/Groundworks. Accreditation:

RICS accreditation is preferred but not essential. Financial Acumen:

Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices, financially astute. Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Software Proficiency:

Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools. Communication:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Problem-Solving:
