About the role

The Assistant Schools Finance Business Partner is a key role within our Management Accounting Team. Working as part of a supportive team, they will support the Schools Finance Business Partner and take the lead on a number of aspects of our Schools Finance functions. This post focuses on education finance and involves significant collaborative work and business partnering with other AfC colleagues as well as with colleagues working in schools across both Kingston and Richmond boroughs.

About you

The successful postholder will be proactive in building productive relationships with schools and will be supported to develop a sound knowledge of this service area. Part AAT qualified / studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT/CPFA) is desirable but applications from candidates qualified by experience are also encouraged. Experience of year end close down with schools to agreed timeframes. Experience of supporting school reviews of financial performance and taking appropriate and timely action when projections indicate that action is required. Experience of completing statutory returns, reporting and undertaking tasks to ensure that AfC are compliant with all rules and regulations. Experience of setting, monitoring and closing a service budget. About our benefits

Achieving for Children have set start dates meaning successful candidates join on a set date in each month. Candidates are advised to prepare for this should a job offer be accepted to ensure eligible continuous service is not affected.
