ROLE OBJECTIVE This role is integral to the promotion and influence of our Brand; the spa operation is the very essence of our brand, and as such, the role is a key part of our operation. We work in times of constant evolution and development; it is therefore an essential requirement that you remain knowledgeable in your specialist area and use this knowledge to support your team and ensure that the highest standards are met. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To assist in ensuring the effective professional management of the daily operation of the Spa Department. To manage good staff/colleagues’ relationships within the department. To assist with training and development to ensure ultimate client care. To operate the Spa Department in a cost-effective manner in line with department budgets. To assist in managing Spa employees to achieve retail and treatment sales targets as set. To assist the management of the platinum service within the Spa Department. To carry out department inspections and report findings to the Spa Manager and Spa Director. To ensure procedures in the department support ultimate client care. Assessment and recruitment of required staff. All new staff to receive a detailed department induction and company induction. Ensure the treatment desk is covered at all times. Ensure all departmental billing is carried out accurately and on time. Liaise with ‘Front of House’ to ensure correct billing. Workload to all staff is evenly distributed. Ensure high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times within the department. Schedules are all suitable, and care is taken to the planning of guests' stays. All front-line people are trained in the standards and procedures required. Complaints are analyzed, and training carried out when needed. HEALTH & SAFETY Ensure all members of staff are aware of actions to be taken in the event of a fire, ensuring safety of all equipment at all times. Be aware of any hazardous substances in use within your department; if they are notifiable substances, notify your General Manager/Maintenance Manager in order that they may be registered. Ensure that all members of staff are aware of all aspects of safety connected with their roles. Ensure that all members of staff are wearing protective clothing if necessary for a particular job or treatment. All members of staff must be properly trained and qualified before doing any treatment/class. You will support with the overall responsibility for Health & Safety within the department; you will also ensure that the first-aid box within your department is maintained and stocked. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING Knowledge of all treatment procedures and products and to be able to adapt treatments to a client's needs. Knowledge of the teams’ skills and areas trained in so that work can be allocated effectively. Knowledge of all Fire, Health, and Safety Procedures, ensuring your team are also knowledgeable. QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in management and team supervision within a spa or retail environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. Expertise in sales and merchandising strategies. Effective time management and organizational abilities. Administrative experience with a focus on customer service.
