Job summary We are seeking to appoint to the role of an Assistant Team Manager (AMHP Senior Practitioner) on a part time basis to help manage the establishment of our centralised AMHP service based at the Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury. We provide a 24/7 AMHP service dedicated to assessing people under the Mental Health Act in a person centred and strength based manner. You will be part of a small management team comprised of a Team Manager and 2 Assistant Team Managers; one of whom works exclusively out of hours. You will need to be an accredited AMHP with at least 18 months experience in this practice area. You will support the ongoing daytime AMHP duty service managing and coordinating new referrals ensuring situations are followed up in a timely manner. You will also ensure there are effective risk management and prioritisation processes, maintaining service continuity from in hours to out of hours. You will be expected to undertake all aspects of AMHP practice in daytime hours, supporting the manager in maintaining positive working relationships with key stakeholders. You will contribute to the maintenance of AMHP practice reviewing assessment reports, ensuring there is legal compliance in our service. Hours: hours a week Salary: £47,800 - £50,129 per annum pro rata. In addition to the salary advertised, you will receive a market premium of £525 per annum and will also be entitled to a £2,500 (per annum) AMHP allowance. Main duties of the job The core purpose of the post is to support the AMHP Manager to deliver a quality 24/7 service by providing support and supervision to the daytime AMHP group. This post is integral to maintaining effective links with key services and teams including inpatient services, community teams, and police and ambulance services. Duties and responsibilities include: To convene and undertake MHA assessments on the in hours AMHP rota To undertake the statutory roles of an AMHP as laid out in the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended) and Code of Practice Provide support and professional/reflective/management supervision to the AMHP group particularly focusing on in hours AMHPs To promote and engage in cross/multi agency working, ensuring strong working relationships are in place with partner agencies Support the development of individuals both within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Buckinghamshire Council with the process of AMHP training and eventual approval as an AMHP to the service To provide guidance and management of complex and high-risk cases and ensure tasks requiring the AMHP role outside of the remit of a daily rota (Guardianship applications, displacement of Nearest Relatives) are completed To identify, challenge and, where possible, redress discrimination and inequality in all its forms in relation to AMHP Practice About us The Bucks AMHP service is a highly valued service within Bucks Council and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust as a S75 seconded service.
