£40,000 - £50,000 per annum Job Description: A well-established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Technical Manager to oversee and maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance at their Northamptonshire site. This role involves leading technical and quality initiatives, liaising with enforcement officers and customer representatives, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, Quality Management Systems, and UK regulations. Key Responsibilities: Maintain BRC accreditation and ensure readiness for audits. Ensure all staff have appropriate certification and a clear understanding of hygiene practices. Implement and uphold HACCP and Due Diligence procedures. Identify weaknesses in production practices and establish corrective strategies. Set and monitor standards for chemical and microbiological results. Train and manage a multidisciplinary HACCP team, including production and senior management members. Ensure product and packaging compliance with current UK regulations and codes of practice. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a technical leadership role, ideally within meat manufacturing (other food product experience will be considered). Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and major retailer requirements and audit standards. Expertise in managing technical and quality systems in high-standard environments.
