Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimising transport operations, ensuring efficient logistics and supply chain management. This position requires strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of customer service, and the ability to manage various transport-related tasks effectively. Duties Develop and implement transport plans that meet organisational objectives while ensuring compliance with regulations. Manage logistics operations, including route planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess transportation needs and provide tailored solutions. Monitor transport performance metrics and suggest improvements where necessary. Drive initiatives that promote sustainability within transport operations. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transport activities. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Utilise IT systems and software, including Microsoft Word, to prepare reports and presentations related to transport planning. Answer calls from customers and drivers and help with any issues that may arise. Skills An understanding or willingness to learn about transport planning. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various stakeholders. A customer-focused mindset with the ability to address client needs efficiently. Geographical knowledge. Excellent computer skills specifically with Excel and Microsoft Office. Good communication skills with drivers, customers, and transport planners. Confident on the phone.
