About the Role The Christchurch Emergency Department currently has opportunities in nursing leadership. Our Associate Clinical Nurse Manager's (ACNM) support the Nurse Manager and are responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Emergency Department. The role will see you lead a team of up to 45 nursing staff on a shift-by-shift basis and be the liaison between the department and users of the service. In addition, you will also lead a group of up to 25 nurses and hospital aides providing them with professional guidance and support. As a senior nurse within the department, you will lead clinical projects and hold departmental portfolios. Please note - Interviews will take place on either 22nd or 23rd January. About the Service Christchurch Emergency Department (ED) is the largest ED in the South Island, seeing more than 137,000 patients per year and covering a population catchment area of over 600,000. It is a tier 6 level ED. We have a strong supportive multidisciplinary team which currently includes Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists on the NP pathway. About you We are looking for Registered Nurses who have advanced knowledge, clinical skills and previous experience in leadership. You will have at least four years validated clinical expertise in emergency nursing and hold a Post Graduate qualification relevant to the role. Proven ability in managing both clinical and non-clinical crisis situations. Demonstrate the ability to manage fluctuating workloads in a busy, pressured environment. Demonstrates a commitment to staff development and research-based practice. Have the vision and ability to accommodate change. Commitment to ongoing involvement in quality improvement projects / initiatives. Have quick and strategic thinking, problem solving and excellent management of complex situations. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
