Job Overview We are seeking an Associate Counsellor at The Sherborne Practice where you will join a small but developing team, with quality mental health care and client-led support at the heart of what we do. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards. Where needed, collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. Continuous professional development. Confidentially manage client information and document therapy sessions, ensuring GDPR processes are followed at all times. Foster a supportive environment that encourages open communication and trust between clients and therapists. Attend monthly supervision. Qualifications A recognised qualification in counselling and/or psychotherapy at a minimum of a level 4 diploma. Experience of safeguarding and managing risk safely. BACP/BABCP/UKCP/NCPS association accredited or similar. Current full enhanced DBS ICO Registration. Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients and colleagues. Experience and understanding of how to work with trauma safely. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in counselling and psychotherapy. Access to a laptop and mobile phone. IT literate. Professional indemnity insurance to a minimum of £1,000,000 per annum. Please note: Pay grade is dependent on qualifications and experience. As an associate counsellor/psychotherapist, you are responsible for making your own tax and national insurance payments. Hours are flexible, and weekend and evening work is available if desired.
