Associate Director of Project Management

to play a pivotal role in establishing a high-performing project management team and delivering exceptional projects that shape the UK’s critical infrastructure. The Role As our

Associate Director of Project Management , you will lead the establishment of a high-performing project management team, overseeing complex projects while driving strategic business growth. This senior leadership role balances hands-on project delivery with high-level strategic input, contributing directly to the company’s expansion. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development: Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing project management team. Foster a collaborative, supportive, and results-focused team culture. Project Delivery & Oversight: Oversee the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Act as a key decision-maker in project execution and contract management. Strategic & Business Growth: Support long-term business growth by identifying new opportunities and developing key client relationships in the utilities, rail, energy/renewables, and highways sectors. Contribute to strategic business planning and align projects with overall business objectives. Operational Excellence: Manage resources, budgets, and priorities effectively across multiple projects. Drive continuous improvement, ensuring best practices in project methodologies and risk management. Stakeholder Management: Engage confidently with senior stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and contractors, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. Act as a key representative for the business in industry forums and networking events. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a confident, proactive leader with a passion for delivering exceptional infrastructure projects and building outstanding teams. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience building and managing high-performing project management teams. Strong track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects in sectors such as utilities, rail, energy/renewables, or highways. Minimum of 8 years experience in project management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience working for a Distribution Network Operator (DNO), an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) or utilities management experience desirable. Expertise in project management methodologies and frameworks (Chartered APM, RICS, or NEC4 certifications are advantageous). Strong understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and health & safety best practices. Commercial and financial acumen with experience managing budgets and resources. Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic mindset with a focus on aligning projects to wider business objectives. What We Offer Competitive Salary:
