Associate Director

to focus on the department scientific strategy for the

Global Genetic Toxicology

team. The successful candidate will represent Genetic Toxicology as a subject matter expert internally, and with clients or regulators, and provide strategic direction for the group based on client and market trends. This role can be based at either our

Harrogate, North Yorkshire

or

Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

sites. As an Associate Director your main responsibilities will be: To provide direction to the global Genetic Toxicology team responsible for the technical and scientific conduct of genetic toxicology studies with a focus on scientific integrity, current regulatory scientific practice and high standards of quality. Initiate, plan and implement cohesive scientific development programs. Develop department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future needs. Provide leadership and scientific training/mentoring for staff working in the operational areas, support areas, Scientists and Study Directors. Some Study Direction may be required. Lead scientific global harmonisation initiatives within Genetic Toxicology. Support the Genetic Toxicology triage process by providing scientific input and guidance for new client enquiries. Expected to have a broad understanding of Genetic Toxicology and Labcorp capabilities. Support client-facing staff by providing advice on complex Genetic Toxicology issues. Participate and promote Genetic Toxicology at scientific meetings. Publish and or present research or study findings. Attain peer recognition of expertise through scientific contributions in the field. Provide leadership for research programs. Reviews and makes recommendations on research proposals for scientific feasibility, opportunity and cost benefit perspectives. Work closely with clients and the Labcorp commercial team to support commercial growth and ensure client specific projects, targets and interests are catered for within Genetic Toxicology. Hosts/attends client visits as appropriate. Lead scientific discussions with prospective clients, enabling the client to achieve a sound scientific approach to testing in accordance with regulatory requirements. Interact and drive teamwork with other departments on matters affecting Genetic Toxicology. Travel may be required to other Genetic Toxicology sites, scientific meetings/conferences and to our client's locations. Experience of study direction and leadership. Strong scientific background, familiarity and expertise with current scientific issues in Genetic Toxicology. Experience of client management skills and technical expertise in the relevant business line with external profile in the field of Genetic Toxicology. Excellent knowledge, understanding and demonstrated previous experience of GLP, its application in Genetic Toxicology as well as current regulatory awareness. Excellent attention to detail, knowledge of methods and complex interpretation of scientific data. Excellent communication (verbal and written), teamwork and interpersonal skills. Skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications. Leads by example to demonstrate Labcorp core values; motivates by example through work ethic, integrity, commitment to quality and personal conduct. Takes ownership of all aspects of work and is accountable for action in all relevant areas. Consistently demonstrates a high level of self-management and professionalism and displays confidence and competence in all forms of written and verbal communication.
