Job Description

We seek an experienced Associate Director of Security Consulting to join our team in the UK. The role will support the successful delivery of UK and international projects, managing highly qualified Engineers and Senior Consultants throughout all project phases, whilst also encapsulating independent project management of complex design and construction projects, covering all aspects of Security Consulting.

This role requires a deep understanding of security risk management principles, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality consulting services to our clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support AESG's Divisional Director of Security in leading and managing the security consulting practice, including business development, client relationship management, and project delivery.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to expand AESG's presence in the UK and other international countries, identifying key market opportunities and establishing strong client relationships.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in security risk assessment, threat analysis, security design, and crisis management for clients operating in the built environment sector.
  • Lead and participate in UK security consulting projects, including conducting security assessments, developing security strategies, and overseeing the implementation of security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to integrate security requirements into the design and construction process strategies, and overseeing the implementation of security measures.
  • Stay informed about emerging security threats, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to security in the built environment sector in the UK.
  • Interpret, apply and develop mitigation measures from threat and risk assessments and/or Strategic Security Masterplans.
  • Provide Security design and engineering services to lead AESG's project delivery on allocated projects within the built environment, spanning all architectural work stages.
  • Prepare outline details of each system - typically VSS, IDS, PIDS, AACS, lighting, AMS, or other control room systems.
  • Support the development of a Vehicle Dynamic Assessment (VDA) services offering within the practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a security risk management or built environment discipline in security studies, physical security engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security consulting, preferably with focus on the UK.
  • Chartered Security (CSyP) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • Membership to a relevant professional body relating to security disciplines, including ASIS International, the Security Institute, Institute of Engineering Technologies (IET) or Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
  • Proven history of successfully managing security consulting projects and delivering high quality client services.
  • Strong knowledge of security risk assessment methodologies, security technologies and industry best practices.
