Associate Director / Technical Director – Development Infrastructure (Birmingham)

PJA have an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead and grow a well-established Development Infrastructure team. PJA have a rich and diverse client base with an equally diverse range of projects from mid-scale residential sites to planning infrastructure for new urban extensions and strategic planning of commercial sites. The Development Infrastructure Team provides advice from due diligence to planning submission, and then through to detailed design for construction and site monitoring. The team works closely with related disciplines in Water Resources, Ground and Highways. This role is to provide a key link between the directors of the business and the technical team, and to help the team identify engineering strategies, provide expert advice internally, and provide senior advice outwardly to our clients. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following: 15+ years of experience in Development Infrastructure. Success in managing a large client base while building a strategy for development and growth. Be a trusted and reliable leader and a preferred advisor to clients. Commercial responsibility for projects. Takes personal responsibility for delivery and technical outputs. Influences team delivery and drives excellence. Quality Assurance. Fee writing and approval. Strategic planning. Able to support or drive improvement in business procedures. Engineering principles across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Good technical knowledge of engineering practices and legislations. Previous experience in large multi-disciplinary projects. In terms of area of technical expertise: Section 104 and Section 38 designs. Minor Section 278’s. Residential site design, from planning to construction. Site appraisals and strategic advice to clients. Good technical reporting skills.
