Associate Director

with relevant experience in leading the delivery of a broad range of traffic and highway engineering projects and being responsible for work winning activities. The successful candidate will share our ethos of developing impactful design solutions and delivering high levels of service to assist with the growth of our Manchester and Northern Streets business by enhancing existing and developing new client relationships. The Streets team provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects. You will be joining a strong team who are recognised as market leaders in the transportation sector including in active travel, public transport, bus priority and general traffic engineering. More than that, we are an approachable, supporting and encouraging team who strive to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career. In addition to delivering work within the local office, the role will involve working closely with other AECOM teams across the northern region and across the wider UK & Ireland business, with opportunity for international working. Key Responsibilities: Client relationship building

- develop sound client relationships, being alert to commercial opportunities, identifying emerging opportunities and developing strategies to fully exploit them. Work winning

- prepare detailed proposals, client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to or lead bids. Working with colleagues to deliver marketing and business development objectives in both the local region and nationally. Project leadership

- following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system, act as a Project Director and Project Manager including monitoring financial performance and key performance indicators. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided. Technical leadership

- ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief. Team management

– be a pro-active Line Manager, managing career progression of line reports. This includes supporting and monitoring team skills and ensure they are up to date with current best practice, techniques, and innovation. Team leadership

- support the Streets North senior management team, including deputising for the Streets Manchester Team Leader as required. This also includes pro-actively supporting recruitment activities to grow the team. Internal relationship building

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
