The Department of Film and Media at Southampton Solent University is seeking to appoint TWO Associate Lecturers in Film Production to deliver teaching on our BA (Hons) Film Production degree. One Associate Lecturer role will specialize in Cinematography, and the other in Screenwriting.
You will hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree and preferably hold or be close to completion of a doctorate in a relevant subject area and have relevant industry experience. Ideally, you will be a well-rounded generalist in Film Production, with a strong focus on screenwriting and/or Cinematography. You should have a solid understanding of the entire filmmaking process – from concept development and production to post-production. You should have strong skills in idea generation and narrative development for short films. Proficiency in industry-standard screenwriting software is essential for the screenwriting role, while experience working with ARRI and Sony cinema cameras is essential for the Cinematography role. Furthermore, proficiency with both basic and advanced lighting equipment techniques for set and location shooting would be advantageous.
