The University of Worcester BA (Hons) Graphic Design course is seeking to expand their current pool of sessional Graphic Design Lecturers to contribute to teaching during 2024-25. Successful candidates will have specialist knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: Photography Advertising Graphic Design Motion Graphic Illustration Publication Design Sustainable Design Applicants with an ongoing professional practice and detailed knowledge of contemporary game development are encouraged to apply. For further information about the Graphic Design course, please visit: Graphic Design BA (Hons) Graphic Design Advertising & Marketing BA (Hons) Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview and asked to deliver a teaching session. Candidates are required to adopt the role of a lecturer at the School of Arts and to facilitate a 15-minute teaching session on a relevant topic aimed at level 5 undergraduate students. The session will be presented to the interview panel and be followed by a formal interview process. The topic should centre on an area of the above practice of the candidate’s choice. As the teaching session is limited in duration, it is suggested that one or two key concepts are covered in-depth with clear introduction, presentation, learning activities, conclusion, and references. Candidates are advised to strictly adhere to their allotted time and therefore, their Intended Learning Outcomes should reflect this. Learning activities are required and should be student-centred and interactive. Candidates are expected to demonstrate learning and teaching skills suitable for a lecturing post at the School of Arts and to show a suitable depth of understanding of their chosen topic. Demonstration of familiarity with academic sources relating to the topic presented is also expected. Once the teaching session has concluded, there will be an opportunity for staff to ask questions related to your teaching. NB. If you are successful at interview you will be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers and we will contact you if suitable work becomes available. We are not able to guarantee employment as it will be subject to student numbers. The number of hours available might only be a few hours per week.
