Orkney’s Health and Social Care Partnership and NHS Orkney are seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and registered Associate Medical Director (Primary Care - Community) with a level of experience to effectively lead and develop change whilst ensuring a strong commitment to service excellence. The Integration Joint Board has been delivering services across the islands using innovative approaches supported by the integration agenda in a remote and rural setting. The Partnership wants to build on their values-based reputation of working closely with people who use services, their Carers, communities, and partners in other sectors, and to develop services that are sustainable and fit for the future for Orkney. To do this, we are looking for someone with previous experience of leading and managing staff to deliver high-quality services. The post holder will play a lead role in communicating openly with primary care colleagues, promoting clinical involvement in the delivery and management of services, and representing GPs’ collective opinions to the Orkney Health and Social Care Partnership and NHS Orkney. You will be an experienced manager confident in delivering safe and effective services, within limited resource availability, in the context of rural island provision where some in-patient facilities are provided on the mainland of Scotland through partner boards.
