The Opportunity Join a leading multi-award-winning firm as an Associate (NQ-3 years PQE) in the Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss Team, based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. This dynamic role involves handling high-value personal injury claims, offering exposure to complex and challenging legal work. About the Role As part of the Catastrophic Personal Injury and Large Loss Team, you will provide comprehensive legal services, from policy coverage to litigation. You will work closely with insurance companies and self-insured commercial organizations, gaining experience in a variety of high-stakes cases. This position provides an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in a specialized area of law where you will play a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of catastrophic personal injury claims.
Key Responsibilities Handling and assisting with a varied caseload, including catastrophic injury and large loss claims. Investigating claims by reviewing medical records, taking witness statements, and interpreting medical reports. Drafting legal documents, providing high-quality advice, and preparing detailed client reports. Representing clients in Sheriff Court hearings, pre-trial meetings, and Proofs, adhering to court timetables. Managing client relationships, ensuring SLA compliance, and maintaining detailed MI reporting. Supporting partners with client servicing, business development, and technical excellence.
Essential Skills & Experience Qualified solicitor with NQ-3 years PQE, ideally with experience in personal injury or civil litigation. Exposure to catastrophic injury or large loss cases is advantageous but not essential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Proficient in drafting legal documents and navigating complex legal issues. A client-focused mindset with a commitment to providing professional, high-quality service.
