MEP Job Description: About Us: Hoare Lea is a human-centric and planet-conscious engineering consultancy. We offer intelligent and sustainable solutions to complex design challenges for the built environment throughout the UK and further afield. We provide a wide range of engineering and consultancy services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security, and sustainability, to name but a few. Together, our highly skilled teams use technical expertise and problem-solving skills to bring buildings to life. We ensure that whatever the building, its design is outstanding, and its operations meet the needs of the communities it serves. We are as committed to inclusivity and flexibility as we are to sustainability and high performance. So, in joining Hoare Lea, you will experience a business that enriches your knowledge, supports your well-being, and welcomes your individuality. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our 9-day fortnight scheme, our thriving community groups (ethnicity, families, gender, LGBTQ+, and neurodiversity), our varied social and networking events, and our extensive professional and technical development scheme. We also offer an extensive benefits package, including private medical cover, electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, stock options, and up to 30 days of annual leave. Whatever your ambitions or circumstances, our aim is to enable everyone to develop their knowledge, give their best, and enjoy what they do. About The Role: We have a brand-new opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our
Science and Research
team in our London office. It's an exciting time to join our
Science and Research
team. We have a proven track record working within the sector delivering projects ranging from speculative commercial laboratory fit-outs for large developers to working with higher education and institutional end-users at the forefront of industry research. Working alongside a range of specialist engineers and consultants, you will be joining a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who love what they do, and offer a supportive, flexible, and high-performing work culture. The role has three strands: project leadership, team leadership, and work winning. Strengthening our leadership in these three areas is a key need in our succession plan and will lead to further career opportunities. Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating/translating the brief within the project team. Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered. About You: We are looking for someone who can inspire, with strong leadership and communication skills to help drive the sector and the office forward, contribute to strategy, and continue to build on the culture and sense of team created. The role is instrumental in helping to continue to grow and develop an integrated team of high achievers, as well as seeking new opportunities to develop the business within the Science and Research sector. Proven experience working as an Associate or Senior Associate Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects. Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux. Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented/consultant role. Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence. To apply, simply complete a CV profile and submit your application, or for further information please contact
louiescottodiperta@hoarelea.com . If shortlisted, one of our recruitment team will be in touch to arrange an introductory call (about 30 minutes) to discuss the role and your experience in more detail. Adjustments and Accommodations: If there are adjustments or accommodations that we can put in place to help you participate and give your best at any stage of the recruitment process (whether relating to disability, neurodivergence, or anything else) please let us know.
