Build the world you want to live in with a career in the infrastructure property sector. We have an excellent opportunity for an MRICS associate partner to work within our infrastructure team based out of our Birmingham office. As an associate partner, you will be required to provide a property service with a rural focus including compensation relating to temporary and permanent acquisition, along with the valuation of rural land and property. As part of your role, you will assist in leading, developing, and delivering 'best in class' strategic advice to our clients in the infrastructure sector. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package including a variety of flexible benefits allowing you to choose the best fit for you including buying additional leave, health cash plans, cycle to work scheme, and so on. In addition, we welcome applications from those seeking flexible or agile working arrangements which can be discussed at the application stage. With members of our team being amongst relatively few professionals in the UK industry to have delivered major projects from initial inception through to consent, Carter Jonas positions itself as a leading provider of these services throughout the UK and across all sectors and is seeking ambitious professionals to join us in delivering this goal. Key Duties:

As a key member of a growing and ambitious team, you will be able to carve your own niche within the team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality professional services to our existing clients, promoting our services to new clients, and promoting our expertise to the market working with our marketing and business development teams, and colleagues within the business. Your day-to-day role will comprise the delivery of excellent technical, fee-earning work alongside our land teams and project managers for our clients. You will also become involved in business promotion; for example, networking events, partnering with our professional partners to run seminars, and publishing thought pieces, legislation, and technical updates to the market. You will take responsibility for the management and delivery of projects, including programme and budgeting autonomy, with the support of the senior management team and Partners. Main Tasks:

Valuation of rural land and property. Negotiation of compensation claims. Develop and undertake new business/relationship opportunities and drive forward initiatives in the local area with a particular focus on claimants/landowners. An active role in the continuous development of efficient, ‘best practice’ internal systems and processes, optimising IT and other resources. Implementation of policy as required and ensuring legal compliance on all work carried out. Management of surveyors working across the team. Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team through their professional development. This job description is not exhaustive, and the jobholder may be required to undertake additional duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department. What Does It Take to Be Successful?

You will be an MRICS surveyor and registered valuer with experience gained within the rural sector; ideally a Fellow of the CAAV and possess a strong understanding of compulsory purchase/compensation knowledge. This role requires you to have a business development-oriented attitude, with a key focus on providing excellent customer service. Rural surveying experience would also be advantageous as we work across the rural division as well as commercial and residential aspects of rural land and property. You must also be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of relevant legislation and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are also looking for you to have the ability to drive business initiatives forward in a confident and personable manner whilst maintaining and establishing relationships. No two days are the same; things can change quickly therefore we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, where flexibility is essential for success. As there is a certain amount of travel involved in the role, therefore a full driving licence is essential. In addition, we have a welcoming team with a great working environment providing a solid progression pathway and the opportunity for you to develop your professional skills and career. If you don’t feel you meet the above criteria but feel you have some of the qualities we are looking for and would like to ask questions about the role, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you and discuss the role further.
