We seek to appoint a scientist whose research expertise complements the significant existing strengths in climate science within the department. The successful candidate may come from across a broad range of scientific disciplines. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the numerical modelling of biogeochemical cycles and of other aspects of the climate system such as cryospheric, oceanographic or atmospheric processes. Candidates with inter-disciplinary interests and experience are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in a numerate discipline relevant to climate science. The main duties of the post are to carry out research at an international level, to participate in the administration of the department and governance of the college, and to teach, supervise, and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford.
Combined University and College salary from £55,755 p.a. plus additional College pensionable benefits. An allowance of £3,155 p.a. would be payable upon award of Full Professor title.
