An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation training department for a full-time band 5 Associate Resuscitation Officer based at Royal Cornwall Hospital. The successful applicant will be an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic health professional with demonstrable involvement and interest in resuscitation practice, education and/or the care of deteriorating patients.

Key Responsibilities: Support the Senior Resuscitation Officers in the organisation and implementation of the Resuscitation service across the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. Assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of the national resuscitation courses. Teach on and develop level 1 educational resuscitation training programmes, assist in their delivery and monitor training carried out. Assist in producing reports for a range of resuscitation related audit programmes within the trust. Act as a professional role model, having a supportive role in education and research, for staff across all multidisciplinary groups. On rare occasions, following training (attainment of ALS), when requested by the Resuscitation Officers, attend cardiac arrests and other emergency calls in order to maintain practical and clinical skills. Assist with the provision and checking of resuscitation training equipment and clinical resuscitation equipment.

The post holder will be expected to have relevant clinical experience in the field of emergency care. They should demonstrate continuing professional development in a range of resuscitation specialities. Experience in an acute or critical care environment is essential.

A substantial proportion of the role will be delivery of life support training to all grades of staff and you will therefore need to have proven teaching/assessing skills and hold an Immediate life support certificate or have progressed to Instructor status.
