St Marys Longfleet, Poole, England, United Kingdom Hours:

Full Time Description of Job: St Mary’s Longfleet, Poole (SML) is a large and growing Anglican Church in a beautiful part of the South Coast within the Diocese of Salisbury. We are looking to appoint an inspiring Associate Vicar with a commitment to our vision of SML – ‘Growing Adventurous Disciples’ – who has the experience, abilities, and passion for this post. This is a strategic pastoral leading and teaching role, responding to the exciting opportunities of a growing multigenerational church with the potential to make a massive difference at a key time. We are looking for a gifted Associate Vicar to oversee and strengthen many existing ministries within the church and play a vital role in releasing new ones. You will be: An ordained priest of the Church of England with at least 3 years of accredited ordained ministerial experience and a strong understanding of how a large church operates and to be comfortable in that setting. An inspiring, creative preacher, teacher, and written communicator who is passionate about making disciples and equipping others to become disciple-makers. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Vicar in the ongoing leadership and management of the Church. This will involve: Leading and preaching in Sunday Services, particularly overseeing teams to creatively shape and develop our evening services and lead our interactive All-Age morning services. Overseeing our Discipleship pathways, including developing our ‘Life Groups’ system, which is a key part of our ministry and involves the training and deployment of new leaders and support and resourcing of existing leaders. Responsible for oversight and line management of our ‘Emerging Generations’ spanning Children’s work, our expanding Youth ministry, and Young Adults. Leading ALPHA, Hope, or other similar evangelistic courses, innovating and growing this vital ministry. For an informal chat about this role, please call Canon Andy Perry on 01202 253527 or email andrew.perry@smlpoole.org.uk. We would really welcome applications from both men and women. If you feel that you could potentially fit well with our culture and values here at SML but don’t think that you meet all of the criteria of the role yet, we would still love to hear from you. Application details:

This role is being advertised from July 2024 until a suitable candidate has been appointed. We are a multi-generational, vibrant, Anglican Church in Poole on the South Coast. Together, we have a heart to love God, build community, and reach out to serve and make a difference in our local area and beyond.
