The postholder may be expected to perform audiological investigations, create individual patient management plans, take aural impressions, and prescribe hearing aid systems using real ear measurements. Depending on experience, they may also be asked to perform routine ear care and micro-suction wax removal. They may be expected to carry out domiciliary visits to housebound patients and visit patients on hospital wards to carry out hearing aid maintenance and support trainees within the service.
