Managerial Opportunity: Audit and Accounts Manager A highly successful and expanding firm in South Buckinghamshire is seeking a skilled and strategic Audit and Accounts Manager. This role offers the chance to oversee and drive the performance of a talented team while managing a portfolio of prestigious SME clients in the UK and overseas.

About the Role As the Audit and Accounts Manager, you will play a key leadership role in the firm’s continued growth. You will take full ownership of your client portfolio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services while maintaining strong relationships with directors and on-site finance teams. Your ability to lead and mentor will be integral to the development of junior staff and the overall success of the team.

Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and execution of audits, ensuring compliance with standards and deadlines. Oversee on-site audit teams, managing workflows and addressing challenges. Finalise audit reports and deliver strategic insights to clients. Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP. Provide leadership, supervision, and training for junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and accountability. Actively contribute to the firm’s strategic initiatives and business development efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business needs. Required Skills and Attributes ACA or ACCA qualified (or close to qualification). A minimum of four years’ recent experience in public practice, including at least two years in a role with 60% or more audit responsibilities. Proven ability to lead audits from planning to finalisation. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on team development. Commercially astute with a client-focused mindset. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.
