Audit and Accounts Senior Job, Wigan based, £30k-£38k, flexible working with progression at a leading firm

Your new company I am currently working with a well-renowned and long-standing firm based in Wigan, who are looking to appoint an Audit and Accounts senior to join their specialist and growing team. With over 70 years of expertise in the sector, they offer a wide range of specialist knowledge and practical experience in services ranging from audit and accounts, tax, corporate finance and payroll. This firm is going through an exciting period of growth, and it would be an excellent time to join this business as an accounts and audit senior.

Your new role You will be responsible for predominantly managing your own small - medium-sized audit engagements, as well as supporting your team and your manager on larger audit engagements. On smaller engagements, you will be responsible for running the entire audit engagement end to end, with the support of 1/2 junior members of the audit team. This will require you to support and mentor the juniors, as well as report back to your manager an update throughout the process. You will be the key point of contact for your client, and attend final meetings. When supporting larger engagements, you will carry out the required work delegated to you, as well as supporting the development of the junior staff. In addition to the Audit role, you will also be responsible for account preparation and tax returns for a small portfolio of clients.

What you'll need to succeed It is essential that you are an individual with a can-do attitude, willing to learn and support others around you. The firm is open to you being part or newly qualified, or qualified by experience, and will support you with your studies if required. You must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a larger team, and independently when needed. You must have a minimum of 3 years' practice experience.

What you'll get in return You will have the opportunity to work for a long-established firm who have wealth and depth of experience to support you in this next stage of your career. You will also join the firm whilst going through an exciting period of change, and be at the forefront of a growing and developing business. You will receive a competitive salary ranging between £30,000 to £38,000, depending on experience. You will be offered flexible working patterns whilst receiving a generous holiday package, free parking, and a supportive and nurturing team environment.
