We are seeking a skilled and experienced Audit Manager to lead an audit department and ensure the smooth delivery of audit services to clients. In this key role, you will drive the efficient management of the department, overseeing a team of professionals and building strong client relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations while supporting business growth through strategic cross-selling opportunities. Key Performance Areas:

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as one of their main points of contact on all matters. Audit Planning & Execution: Lead the planning process, including resource allocation, timeline management, and budget oversight. Review and approve audit deliverables, ensuring they meet client needs and comply with regulations. Team Management: Supervise Audit Seniors, Assistants, and Specialists. Provide guidance and training, addressing queries during assignments, and ensure the team is properly resourced and motivated. Audit Review & Reporting: Review and finalize audit work papers, fieldwork, and reports. Ensure all audit files are ready for partner review prior to completion. Client Billing & WIP Management: Assist in billing clients, monitor WIP (work-in-progress) processes, and provide reports to partners. Special Non-Audit Work: Actively participate in or oversee non-audit assignments as required. Training & Recruitment: Lead team training initiatives and participate in recruitment to ensure the department is adequately staffed to meet resourcing needs. Requirements:

ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 4 years PQE. Proven experience in audit management, particularly managing teams of 10+ people. Experience in handling a portfolio of clients with total fee income exceeding £700,000. Expertise in FRS 102 and IFRS accounting frameworks. Up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting, auditing standards, and company law. Experience in larger firms (Top 30) is a plus. Proficiency in CCH and CaseWare software is advantageous. Experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero is beneficial. Strong Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships effectively and work with clients at their premises. Willing to travel to client sites when necessary.
