Audit Senior Location: St Albans Job Type: Full-time Salary: £55,000 Join a dynamic and progressive accountancy firm with over 50 years of experience as an Audit Senior. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including sectors such as manufacturing, retail, and charities, among others. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct audits at clients’ premises and in-house, covering a wide range of sectors. Prepare clients’ accounts from provided books and records for both audit and non-audit clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Limited Companies, Trusts, and Charities. Prepare tax computations for income tax and corporation tax based on accounts prepared. Extract necessary information during account preparation for the Tax Department’s use in P11Ds. Report directly to the manager or client on potential improvements to the client’s accounts functions noted during audits or account preparations. Reconcile VAT and PAYE accounts, advising the manager or client directly of any necessary adjustments. Occasionally prepare cash flows, forecasts, and business plans for clients and third-party presentations. Assist in ad-hoc arrangements covering general accounting, due diligence, investigation, and taxation matters. Supervise the audit process on-site, supporting and developing junior staff members. Manage the progress of audit assignments against the original plan and assist in the planning and review of audit assignments. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience in an audit role, qualified to ACA standard or equivalent by experience. Well-rounded knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles. Highly motivated self-starter, able to complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines. Excellent communication skills, capable of clear and concise information delivery. Strong interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Good organisational skills, able to multitask and meet deadlines by prioritising within projects. Attention to detail and accuracy. Confident IT and systems skills, with a proven track record of understanding client needs and using technology to achieve effective management.
