Core Functions To utilise specialist clinical skills to support, train and coach mental health teams in their work with autistic clients to promote recovery. To work independently, without direct supervision, prioritising workload and responding to service demands in a timely way. To recognise the need for and initiate where appropriate, advice of relevant specialisms. To liaise closely with members of the MDT within the team and wider services to ensure the right support is being offered to autistic service users. Examples may include supporting with care planning, formulations, positive behaviour support plans (PBS), reasonable adjustments and sensory needs. To employ excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to promote multi-disciplinary and interagency liaison and collaborative practice to broad range of audiences, including other professionals. To continuously evaluate the clinical effectiveness of the service by use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures and participate in the development of the service. To maintain knowledge of current research and clinical developments, to participate in research/audit within service and to take part in relevant training to support the role. Qualifications and Knowledge
Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to this sector. Educated to degree level or equivalent as required for registration with professional body. Demonstrable experience of working with neurodiversity Experience of training patients/carers and other healthcare staff Be able to effectively Chair meetings Evidence of suitable post-registration professional practice, in hospital or other healthcare setting Experienced in recognising signs of neurodiversity in those who haven't been diagnosed and signposting to relevant services.
