Day-to-day of the role:

As an Autism Specialist Teacher, you will: Develop and implement innovative educational strategies tailored to the needs of students with autism. Collaborate with a team of skilled educators and support staff to foster a supportive and effective learning environment. Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance students’ communication, social skills, and behavioural management. Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adapt educational plans to ensure optimal learning outcomes. Provide mentorship and guidance to other staff members on best practices for supporting students with autism. Engage with families to provide insights and strategies that support their children’s learning and development both at school and at home. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Autism Specialist Teacher or in a similar role within special educational needs (SEN) settings. A deep understanding of autism and the educational challenges and opportunities it presents. Confidence and dedication to go above and beyond in supporting children with special needs. Must possess or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service. Excellent communication and collaborative skills to effectively work with colleagues, students, and parents.
