Are you an experienced support worker seeking a role in education? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism? A friendly and unique Special School in Swindon is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join their team full-time starting in September. The school caters for children and young people with Autism as their primary need, as well as pupils with learning difficulties, communication challenges, and ADHD. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Support Worker or recent Graduate to further their experience with Special Educational Needs. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher and provide 1-2-1 support during lessons. You will build strong relationships with all pupils and learn to cater to each of their social and emotional needs. You will help manage any challenging behaviour that may arise and ensure each pupil is engaged and focused in class. Above all else, you will help create a fun, safe, and exciting classroom environment. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and bubbly Autism Support Worker who has a passion for supporting vulnerable young people. A recent graduate with a relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology, as well as knowledge of neurodiversity, would be perfect for this role. Any experience working with Autism, whether professional or personal, would be beneficial. Empathy and flexibility are also important skills! The school day runs from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, and the school is looking for an Autism Support Assistant who can work full-time, Monday to Friday.
