Description:

We are hiring on behalf of our client Translink who have an opening for an experienced Auto Electrician to join their team at their Omagh Depot. You will maintain and repair all electrical aspects of a vehicle, carry out vehicle inspections and associated administrative duties.

The Role:

The following reflects typical duties and is not intended to be a comprehensive description of all tasks:

Inspect, service, maintain and prepare Translink fleet to PCV standards

Test, diagnose faults and rectify defects on vehicle systems

Remove and replace vehicle components

Respond to vehicle breakdowns

Complete administrative duties associated with the post

Other appropriate duties

The Person:

Minimum of 2 years’ post apprenticeship experience in a similar role.

Recognised Vehicle Apprenticeship with minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade or discipline.

Awareness and understanding of customer needs.

Diagnostic ability where applicable Ability to produce sound & safe work.

Awareness of and compliance with Health & Safety at work.

Working knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems e.g. CAN-system and Ad-blue systems etc.

Ability to work with others and with minimal supervision

Flexible attitude to work and working hours with ability to work additional hours when required or at short notice.

Available for call out.

Ability to work in other Depots in the area may be required.

Able to obtain a PCV licence.

Able to satisfy such medical standards as may apply to the post.

Desirable:

Experience in a similar role working on commercial vehicles.

Relevant engineering experience on buses and/or coaches.

Relevant qualification or training relating to a workshop environment.

Understanding of mechanical/body aspects of electrical interfaces Experience of using IT packages

Full current driving licence.

Possess large vehicle license, preferably a PCV license.

The Reward:

Salary: £31,741.53 per annum for a 37 hour work week.

Translink current pension scheme is the Northern Ireland Local Government Officers' Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC) scheme which is a CARE (career average re-adjusted earnings) scheme. As an employee, your contribution rate depends on how much you are paid but will be between 5.5% and 10.5% of your pensionable pay. The employer's contribution rate currently ranges from 18% to 22%.
