Contract: Automation Engineer Start Date: ASAP Location: Onsite 2-3 times a week in London Duration: 3 months Day Rate: £550 a day inside scope Reference: 18358 Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Automation Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for infrastructure automation and a strong grasp of automation concepts and patterns. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows to optimize infrastructure deployment and management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and reliable automation solutions. Leverage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform to manage and provision infrastructure resources. Work with tools like Ansible for configuration management and orchestration. Utilize GitLab for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development. Develop scripts and tools using Python or Golang to support automation initiatives. Implement containerization solutions with Podman and manage the deployment of containerized applications. Use Temporal for orchestrating workflows and automating repetitive processes. Manage secrets and sensitive data securely using Vault. Operate and maintain network and infrastructure inventory systems such as NetBox. Collaborate on provisioning and management tasks in bare-metal environments using Ironic. Required Skills: Strong understanding of infrastructure automation concepts and patterns. Hands-on experience with at least some of the following tools: Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Vault, NetBox, Podman, Ironic, Temporal, Python, or Golang. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and best practices for infrastructure deployment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.
