The role

You’ll be part of a team that designs, builds, and implements bespoke automation systems for industries like logistics, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and automotive. No two projects are the same, and your work will directly shape systems used by clients around the globe.

Controls Engineer main responsibilities will include:

Designing and programming control systems for highly customised automated solutions. Developing PLC programs, vision systems, SCADA, and HMI interfaces. Integrating conveyors, bespoke machinery, robotics, vision systems, and other components into automated production lines. Supporting installations, fault-finding, and commissioning, both in the UK and abroad.

What you’ll need to bring

A qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field (HNC/HND/Degree). Experience designing control systems and programming PLCs. Proficiency with at least one PLC platform, think Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar. Hands-on experience integrating components like conveyors, robotics, and vision systems into automation projects. Bonus points if you’ve worked in pharma or life sciences, but it’s not essential.
