A quick look at the role Reporting into the Test Manager, the Automation Test Lead is responsible for overseeing the automated testing of changes to business-critical systems. As the timely delivery of quality technology solutions is contingent upon thorough testing, the Automation Test Lead will play a key part in improving the quality and reducing the overhead of testing, thus contributing to the success of the organization. Leading a team of automation testers, they will work closely with developers and business stakeholders to develop and maintain a test automation framework to ensure the systems built and integrated with meet the business’s requirements and are delivered within project parameters. Your core responsibilities Take responsibility for ensuring that test automation is utilized to ensure that software products are robustly tested and fit for purpose based on appropriate criteria (including reference to design or technical specification documents). Accountable for strategizing the automated testing of internally developed software, as well as system enhancements, extensions, and integrations, using the Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and other tools. Accountable for the development and maintenance of automated test suites. Lead a team of test automation engineers, providing training and career development. Provide reports, metrics, and status updates on automated testing to project stakeholders facilitating the release management of code and configuration changes. Take responsibility for 6-month resource planning, including the identification of the skillsets relevant to test automation deliverables. Monitor and maintain standards of test automation best practice and contribute towards the continuous improvement of the test automation process. Collaborate with project stakeholders to embed test automation within a CICD pipeline. Our essential requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ISEB / ISTQB foundation qualification or equivalent 2 years+ experience working as an Automation Test Lead Knowledge of a range of test automation tools and frameworks Experience building and maintaining a test automation framework Biffa – we’re changing the way people think about waste At Biffa, we love working with waste.
