ABOUT THE JOB As Aviation Safety Manager you'll be responsible for: Acting as the focal point and responsible for the development, administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of TUI Airways integrated and effective safety management system within the AOC, the ATO and the CAMO. Leadership, management and direction of the Emergency Response Planning function within the airline, ATO and CAMO. Facilitating hazard identification, risk analysis and management including MOC by implementing the necessary processes and training. Ensure the running and continuous improvement of the SMS Training programme across the organisations. The delivery of the FDM programme. Monitoring the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks. Ensure initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence/accident investigations. Promoting a positive safety culture. Acting as an SME in Safety, Safety management, and Human Factors. Leading and mentoring the Safety Team. ABOUT YOU Development and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System, working closely with Group AOC colleagues to harmonise processes and procedures and develop a single TUI Group SMS. Satisfy the regulatory requirement for the Safety Manager function within the Air Ops and CAMO regulations. Ability to work within a multi-national team, with an understanding of cultural differences and an adaptable leadership style to build productive working relationships. 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position. A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority. Knowledge and understanding of ICAO standards and European and National requirements and provisions on safety management. Knowledge and understanding of safety investigation techniques and root cause methodologies, management systems, including compliance monitoring, human factors. Relevant and documented work experience, in a comparable position. Strong people management skills and experience of leading a team. Knowledge of safety management systems and their application in a commercial environment. Knowledge of risk management and its application in a commercial environment. Great technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work on own initiative and self-motivate. Interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills. Organised with great attention to detail. Ability to plan, prioritise and balance a variety of work. Resilience in operationally demanding times. Highly computer literate.
