Adept:us is recruiting for an Avionics Engineer for a Wiltshire based client who operates in the Aerospace / Defence industry.

The Avionics Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, analysis, integration, and testing of our client's avionics and electronic / electrical systems. Working as part of small, cross-functional engineering teams, the Avionics Engineer will develop designs, evaluate prototypes, and contribute to bringing products to market. They will be adept at creating system and subsystem designs from fundamental requirements, developing design concepts from a clean-sheet approach. The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance competing deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively.

This is a full time, permanent role with the option of hybrid working.

Essential Requirements

Education: University degree or equivalent (e.g., Engineering) or HND with relevant experience. PID Controllers: Experience with PID controllers and tuning methods. Programming: Proficient in C/C++ programming for embedded systems. RTOS: Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). UNIX: Proficient in using UNIX-based operating systems. Source Code Management: Familiar with source code control systems such as Git for coordinating development. Electronics Design: Experience in designing both analogue and digital electronics. Signal Conditioning: Experience in designing analogue and digital FIR/IIR filters. ARM Architecture: Familiarity with ARM architecture. Embedded Debugging: Experience with debugging embedded systems using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and multimeters. Communication Protocols: Knowledge of modern software development practices and common communication systems, interfaces, and protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, asynchronous serial, RS232, RS485, CAN, HDMI, TCP/IP). Hardware Understanding: Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and datasheets. Capable of evaluating new hardware devices, analysing design issues, and proposing solutions. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of CE requirements for electronic products. Eligibility: Right to work in the UK. Desirable Attributes
