The Savings & Retirement Deal Pricing team are responsible for assessing and modelling the commercial pricing of the S&R product suite. The assessment and assumptions include but are not limited to capital, expense, investment and collateral structures. The team deliver the fees & premiums to send to clients in our global markets. The team covers a range of products across our global markets including the bulk annuity market in Europe & North America, individual retirement products and a range of savings & retirement benefits in Continental Europe & Asia. The deal structures include funded, longevity swaps and new business flows. Key Responsibilities:

The team focusses on the cashflow & capital modelling, ensuring the specific products & risks are appropriately captured in pricing. We will produce the deal metrics to ensure these meet all pricing hurdles & governance requirements. Working with the client solutions team we have a strong focus on optimising deal structures to provide clients with a strong commercial package whilst ensuring an efficient capital structure for PL Re. For deals with a funded element, we will work closely with the S&R ALM team & the Pacific Life Investments team to set an investment strategy to appropriately match the liabilities & client needs. The team is responsible for the pricing activities related to treaty execution, and ensure the required information is handed over to the S&R inforce management team for implementation. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong technical actuarial / investment background to join the S&R Deal pricing team delivering on the team’s responsibilities above. You will be a leader in the team providing high quality analysis and supporting the technical & personal development of other team members. As a creative thinker the role holder will support the development of PLRe pricing sophistication by understanding latest pricing and analytical techniques and continuously improving internal approaches. This role will be responsible for leading the deal pricing within our target Asia Pacific markets. Key Responsibilities

Develop high quality and market leading pricing quote teams ensuring high levels of technical and market expertise. Oversee the quote process ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery of pricing and production of high quality analysis. Uses initiative and creative thinking to deliver new solutions, processes or approaches to pricing risk & develop new deal structures. Work with ALM & investments teams to develop suitable investment strategies for clients needs within internal risk appetites. Ensure strong risk controls continue to be at the core of the processes and team culture. Support in the development of pricing methodologies and approaches, together with supporting timely implementation of treaties for valuation purposes. Responsible for coaching and developing members of the team, to achieve team and company goals and individual performance standards. Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of our clients, regulatory developments and of reinsurance/insurance industry trends. Responsible for applying actuarial judgement and ensuring those developments are considered and where appropriate reflected in the pricing of S&R business as well as in the provision of technical support, risk assessment and pricing expertise to clients and colleagues. Support and collaborate with the client solutions team in building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and promoting the Pacific Life Re brand. Support efforts to enter new markets & products and ensure appropriate pricing input is provided. Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will:

Have strong technical skills necessary to develop and implement pricing strategies for asset and/or insurance risk. Be a qualified actuary or professional with financial markets/banking sector experience with at least 5 years post qualified experience. Have strong and relevant experience in life (re)insurance and/or life consultancy, ideally with asset strategy expertise. Have strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgement and commercial awareness, to produce justifiable and practical pricing advice even where data is sparse or difficult to work with. Have a good understanding of the pension risk transfer market in the UK/US or other mature global savings & retirement markets. Enable the development of junior members of the team and encourage ownership and responsibility for their individual task in respect deal pricing responsibilities. Have experience driving projects forward, ensuring targets are met & securing approvals from senior stakeholders. Have strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate an ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Have a solid understanding of life insurance company balance sheets, capital and profit reporting regimes (IFRS, Solvency II, US GAAP, BMA).
