The Role

We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to focus on building and maintaining customer environments in AWS. The engineer will have a strong knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework and best practices. They will work alongside our Cloud team, and our engineering disciplines on both new deployments and in supporting existing environments.

We’re looking for someone who has:

Proven experience working with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform.

A good understanding of AWS backup solutions, and resiliency/DR strategies.

Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments, including IAM roles, encryption, and firewall configurations.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, AWS Config, and CloudTrail.

Some familiarity with Linux/Unix administration in the context of cloud infrastructure.

Existing AWS certifications, or the knowledge & drive to attain relevant certifications quickly (certification costs will be covered by Options).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Typical Job duties would include:

Working with Solution Architects and Sales Engineers to deploy AWS environments for customers, leveraging IaC where possible.

Engaging directly with customer technology teams where needed.

Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 issues related to cloud infrastructure.

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of infrastructure through backups, snapshots, and multi-region setups.

Configure and integrate native, or third-party, tools for monitoring, security and administration.

Assist in optimizing AWS environments for cost, performance, and availability.

Managing multiple work streams in a fast-paced service provider environment.
